Kennedy,.F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: W. H. Brazil The following applications for permit to connect with sewer; were granted on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary, with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer: Ben Harris - Monterey St: between Grove and Ida Sts. Southern Counties Gas Co. - Higuera St. between Archer and Carmel Sts: The transfer of license for the San Luis Bowling Recreation from Floyd Russell to Orville John Laurent at 1115 Santa Rosa Street -was referred to the Commissione of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph teary. Communication received from the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. asking the City-Council to release them on contractor' s. bond for Salinas Valley Awning Works, in the amount of $200... Seme was referred to the City Attorney, on motion of R. P. Howell,.seconded by Joseph Leary. Communication received from the Aetna Casualty and Surety Co. requesting cancellation on Merchandising bond of the Brooks Clothing Co., the bond having served its purpose.-and the City Clerk was directed to write a letter releasing the bonding co. The applications for licenses from Robert L. Crossman was again held over. The bid.of Allan R. Ochs for lighting fixtures for the New Municipal Bldg. at 738 Pismo St. was rejected on motion of R. P: Howell, seconded-,Iby Joseph Leary. held over: .Re: Communication from R; C. Woods relative to repairing sidewalk was again On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary the City Inspector and the Commissioner,of Public Works are to meet on January 2, 1942 at 12:30 F. M. to receive prices on incandescent lighting fixtures for the new Municipal Building at 738 Pismo Stre Ordinance No. 234 (New Series) - An.Ordinance of the City of San Luis Obispo Relating to Air Raid Precautions was finally..passed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy by the following vote: Ayes: R. P. Howe•11, Ralph C. Kennedy, F.C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: W. H. Brazil - The form of lease submitted for the leasing of the Municipal Bldg. at 738 Pismo St. was accepted by the.Council on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary ( bids to be opened on January 5th, 1942 ). The letter received from the Federal Works Agency regarding the employment of I. J. Boyd, Engineer, was.referred to the City Attorney, with power to act, as to the per diem wage scale based on $250.00 per month. Letter received from Harry Neville Jenks confirming a long distance telepho call, approving of changes made in the Municipal Sewage Works Project was ordered received and filed. Contract for Chlorine gas for 1942 was submitted to the Council by Luippold Engineering Sales Co. of Los Angeles for their consideration and on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, same was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for inve®tigation and report back to the Council.
