Mr: John Ormonde of 254 Sandercock St. appeared before the Council, complaining
about the unsanitary condition in the neighborhood. The matter was referred to the Health
Dept.-on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy; seconded by W. H. Brazil.
Re: Traffic Control Signals: The City Attorney and City Engineer checked the
bids received and reported that the best and lowest bid received was that of the.Econolite
Corporation, in the amount of-$3500.00; the signals to be installedat Marsh and Broad
Street and at Santa Rosa and Monterey Streets. It was moved by W. H. Brazil, seconded by
Ralph C. Kennedy that the bid of the Econolite Corporation be accepted. Motion carried.
The City Clerk was directed to return the unsuccessful bidder's certified - check.

Resolution No. 648 (New Series) - A Resolution granting to the Southern Pacific
Company permission and the right and privilege, in connection with and as incident to the
1 operation of its steam railway for the transportation of passengers and freight, to con-
struct at.grade, maintain and operate one additional track across Osos Street in the City
of San Luis Obispo was passed and adopted on motion of Ralph C..Kennedy, seconded by W. H.
Brazil, by the following roll callvote:-

The petition of M. S. Azevedo to remove trees from parkway at 1069 Pacific Street
was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, with power to act, on motion of Ralph
C. Kennedy, seconded by W: H. Brazil:

'170 The report of the City Clerk for the month of December, 1941-was ordered
received and filed.
Communication received from C. D. Stowe requesting return of filing fee -in the
amount of $6.00 for Service Station building on Higuera Street at the South city limits
( building is not going to be constructed). The City Clerk was authorized to draw warrant
in the amount of $6.00 on the• Administratiod Fund, and -refund same to C. D. Stowe, on
motion of R. P. Howell, seconded-by Ralph C. Kennedy upon the following vote:

The application of the Pacific Tel. and Tel. Co. for permit to pace underground
conduit and to do other work along certain streets in the City of San Luis Obispo, was
granted on motion-of R. P:.Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, subject to the following con-
ditions: The City of San Luis Obispo will furnish an Inspector and the Pacific Tel. and
Tel. Co. to pay the cost of such Inspector:
The schedule of the Jones Transportation Service was ordered received and filed.
Resolution-No. 649 (New Series) - A Resolution Approving Schedule of Routes and
regulations submitted by John G. Jones was passed and adopted on motion of R. P.Howell,
seconded by W. H. Brazil by the following vote:

The application of Zelmira Ciocchi for city license for Raviolas was again held
Re: Communication from Earl M. Bernard relative to the city to take any necessary
measures to protect the property pwners in the 1900 Block on Osos Street, by proper super-
vision of the work being done by the S. P. R. R. was ordered received and filed, on motion
of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. -P. Howell.
Ordinance No. 235 (-New Series) - relative to the prohibiting of operating
Music Machines, Radios, etc. from 12 o'clock midnight until 7 o'clock A. M. etc., was
finally passed on motion of W.H. Brazil, seconded -by R.P.Howell upon the following roll
call vote:
Ayes: N.H. Brazil, R.P.Ho: -jell, F.C. Kimball, Joseph Leary
Noes: Ralph C. Kennedy
Absent: None
Mr.H. C. Grundell and a committee from the Chamber of Commerce appeared before
the City Council submitting a proposed plan to purchase a site•for an Airport adjacent
to the city at a cost of $60,000. Matter - discussed but no action taken at this time.
On motion of:R..:P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, it was ordered that the
Standard Oil Co. be permitted to run a 2 inch pipe line from the end of present 2 inch
line at the southern end of the city along Highway 101 as specified by the Department of
Public Works.
The City Engineer was instructed to haul and have available, a stock pile of
sand at the Buchon Street yard to be issued to air wardens for their distribution.
On motion of 3. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, the meeting adjourned
to January 26, 1942.
