Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball Absent: Joseph Leary The application of the Christian Science Church for permit to remodel church on part of Lots 9 & 10, Block 98. Mission Vineyard Tract ata cost of $100.00 was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded-by :'d. H. Brazil; work to be done under the supervision of the engineering department. The following applications were granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil; work to be done under the supervision of the engineering department: fiarley Gill - Connect with sewer on Ella St. between Ruth and 111illiams Streets Francis Goessi - 50 ft. of sidewalk on the west side of Lawton St, between Woodbridge and Caudill Streets Mary Fogarty - 50 ft. of sidewalk on the east side of Chorro St. between Pacific and Pismo 6treets George Anholm - break curb for a distance of 8 ft. for driveway on Chorro St. between Center and Venable Streets Communication received from the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference requesting the City of San Luis Obispo to continue their membership for the calendar year of January 1st to December lst,.1942. Same was ordered received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. brazil. Copy of a resolution adopted by the City Council of bakland, California recei Declaring certain'Streets in the City of Oakland, "MacArthur Boulevard" and asked that other cities join in this movement and rename #101 highway to "MacArthur Boulevard "; same was ordered received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C.Kennedy Communication received from the Commonwealth Club of California, suggesting that the city adopt a resolution on War Salvage ( Collection, Segregation and Utilization) was ordered received and filed. The Treasurer's report for the month ending March 31, 1942 was ordered re- ceived and filed. Notificatinn received from the State Board of Equalization relative to transfer of "On Sale Beer and Nine" license for Max Lagao from 866 Palm Street to 142 Higuera St. was ordered received and filed. Petition of the S. Y. Milling Co. for permit to install 1 - 550 gallon gasoline tank and pump at the corner of Santa Barbara Ave, and High Street was granted on motion of W.H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and existing ordinance. The applications for city license for Dorothy White at 1240 Monterey Street for Merchandise ( Confectionery, Lunch, Soft Drinks, ) and Cigars Sideline was held over for further investigation, as were also the applications of Mrs. Thelma Ibanez and George R, Mamaril for Soft Drinks, Restaurant, and Cigars Sideline at 162 Higuera Street. The application of C. F. Jones for 50 ft. of sidewalk on the east side of Lincoln Street between Montalban and Center Streets was granted on motion of R.I.Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy; work to be done under the supervision of the city engineer, as was also the application for sewer permit to connect with .sewer for George Anholm on Chorro Street between Center and Venable Streets. The proposed Ordinance dealing with the Auxiliary kolice force was presented by the City Attorney; matter discussed but no action taken at this time. On motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the City Clerk was instructed to draw warrants to refund the following property owners who have made advance payments on the proposed Oiling of Archer and Walker Streets, which work was not started.
