Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Josei.)h Leary Absent: None The Minutes of June 1st and June 6th, 1942 were read and approved as read. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by 17. H. Brazil: Tony T. Silva - Store room and laundry, Lot 169 Blk..93, M. & C. Addn. Cost 260.00, Mrs. C. Fisher_- Enlarge bedrpom; Pt. Lot 11, Brizzolara Addn. 125.00 On motion of W. H. brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the following city licenses were granted: C. H. Kamm & Co. by F. L. Cunningham - 2 taxicabs - 1034 Monterey St. John Galleo. Jr. Dance for June lSth.and July 4th, - 1190 Monterey St. The transfer of license of the Morro Rooms, 1011 Morro St. from Jessie E. Hughes to Mrs. Martha Utley was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of R. 1. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. Communication from Lou Rosenberg thanking the city of San Luis Obispo for the floral boquet on opening of Fremont Theatre was ordered received and filed. Communication from National Surety Corp. regarding the Franchise bond filed by the Santa Maria Gas & Power Co. wasreferred to the City Attorney, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. F. Howell. Petition fled by Cline's Electric Shop for permit to hang neon sign for Brown and Doyle at 1026 Morro St. was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R.P.Howell. Same to be hung under the supervision of the City Engineer, and existing ordinance. Communication from The ridelity and Casualty Co, of New York re: Bond of J. C. James was referred to the,City Clerk for answer, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by ',1. H. Brazil. The City Attorney was instructed to bring ordinance authorizing Boulevard Stop Signs. at Chorro and Upham Streets, stopling traffic on Chorro Street. The City .Engineer, Leonard Lenger, reported on the progress being made on the Public Park, statinc sidewalks have been completed and the ground will be ready for lawn planting within 10 days. Some trees and shrubs have already been planted. The matter of the Southern Counties Gas Co. Franchise was brought up and after discussion the Mayor instructed Commissioner Ralph C. Kennedy to negotiate with the company concerning the matter. It was moved by Ralph 0. Kennedy, seconded by '"1. H. Brazil that Commissioner of Public Works, R. P. Howell, be empowered to rent the city's maintainer to Henry Dalessi to complete the Fremont Theatre parking lot job, upon the following vote: Ayes: 71.H.Brazil, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball Noes: Joseph Leary Commissioner R.P. Howell refused to vote. Motion carried. On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil the meetingadjourned. Ayes: :+1.H.
