Present: W.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Joseph Leary Absent: F.�,. Kimball The.Minutes of August 3rd, August 6th and 10th were read and approved as read. The following application:. for permit to build was granted on motion ofW.H.Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy: Salvador Duron - Addn. to present Residence; Lot 13, Block 11, Weills Addn. Cost 400.00 Communication received from Mr. McKesson, of the Public Employees 'mar Savings Committee for Southern California outlining a plan to establish a voluntary payroll de- duction whereby employees may purchase war savings bonds. Same was referred to the Com- missioner of Finance for study and report. and filed. The report of the City Clergy; for the month of July, 1942 was ordered The - application filed by Henry Walley for Lodging House at 522 Higu was granted on motion of•1 -. H. Brazil, seconded by Joseph Leary. The application filed by Boriack Bros. for a Taxicab license at Marsh Rosa Streets was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedyj: . A communication was received by the City Fire Department addressed to Council advising them that the Dodge Pickup now in use in_the Department could verted into an auxiliary piece of fire apparatus and asked the Council to purcha ceived Street na Santa g Street he City con-' e the Panama Pump which is being used extensively, which would be installed on the pickup. After discussion it was moved by W. B. Brazil, seconded by Joseph Leary that the equip- went be purchased. The maximum cost of the pump including installation etc. would be about $175.00. Resolution No. 680 (New Series) - A Resolution providing for the execution of an Agreement between the City of San Luis Obispo and Luippold Engineering Sales'lompany relating to the purchase of liquid chlorine was passed and adopted on motion of II. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy upon the following vote: Ayes: W.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: F.C. Kimball On motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by W. H: Brazil, Mr. Fred Wallace appointed City Mechanic at a salary of $200.00 per month to be paid out of the as ofAugust 10, 1942. On motion of W.H.
