after hearing the testimony of Police Officer Treanor, S ;t. Heinrich, Cpl. ','lines and
Pvt. 7illiams, and on the strength of the testimony presented, and on motion of Clyde
T. O'Nan, seconded by Joseph Leary it was ordered that Officer Vaught be.cleared of the
charge.
On motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by Joseph Leary the meeting adjourned.

The Merchandising Bond of Jordano Bros., together with their check in
the amount of $200 was referred to the Commissioner of Finance with power to act.
-The City Clerk was authorized to draw a warrant for refund of $7.50 to the
Pacific Coast.Coal Co. upon receipt of - communication under date of July 9, 1943 requesting
the cancellation of License //401 ( July quarter) and the refund to them of the $7.50
license fee.
The City Clerk was authorized to draw a warrant on the Administration Fund
in the amount of $2127.55 in favor of the State 9orpensation Fund of Initial Premium
on 1943 -1944 Compensation insurance.
Communication'from the War Price and - Rationing Board //10..1 asking that.the
City continue the services of Pairs. Vera Russell for a 99 day period was authorized by the
Council.
On motion of h.P.Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, the application of
W.'ff. Mathews for permit to remodel bldg. at 308 Higuera St. in Reeds Addn. was granted
at a cost of X500.00.
Communication from City Tire Shop petitioning the City Council for an unloading
zone in the 900 block on Higuera St. was denied upon the following roll call v otel
on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R.P.Howell:

Ordinance No. 250 (New aeries) - 'An Ordinance Providing for a reduced water
rate and refund for water used in maintaining 'r`lartime Victory Gardens, and providing
penalties for the violation of such ordinance was passed toprint as corrected-, on motion
of R.P.Howell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan upon the following roll call vote:

Ordinance No. 247 (New Series) - An Ordinance of the City of San Luis Obispo
granting to Southern Counties Gas Company of California, a corporation, the right,
privilege and Franchise to lay and use pipes and appurtenances for transmitting and dis-
tributing gas for any and all purposes under, along, across or upon the public streets,
ways, alleys and places, as the same now or may hereafter exist, within said Municipality
was finally passed on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R.P.Howell upon the follow-
ing roll call vote:

Ordinance No. 249 (New Series) - An Ordinance restricting the voltage of
Electric Lines installed and operated in, on or over the Public :Streets of the City of
San Luis Obispo, and regulating the use of such lines to minimize radio interference,
