Presidio of San Francisco, addressed to Commissioner Joseph Leary relative to.reply to
his letter requesting more Yi. F.'s for town duty was ordered received and filed on motion
of Joseph Leary, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy.
The petitions filed by Coony and Winterbottom for permit to open
trench across Leff St.between High and Beach Streets and on Leff St. and Ruth St. to
connect with sewer was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy,
Joseph Leary voting "No" claiming the building does not comply with the Building Code and
the contractor's failure to present plans and secure license.
On motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the follow-
ing applications were granted:

tractor's license for Federal Housing Unit was presented to the Council; the matter was
referred to the City _'Attorney for further advice before taking final action.
The proposed contract.for water for the Federal Housing Units which was referred
to the City Attorney and City Engineer for report was held over.
The Agreement made and entered into the 16th day of August, 1943 between the City
of San Luis Obispo and the Metals Reserve Co. was referred to the City Attorney for report.
On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary the meeting a diourned.

The minutes of October 18th were read and approved as read.
On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary, the application filed by
0. 'tl. Birra for building permit to enlarge rear door and brick window in building
Block 62, McDougal Tract at a cost of $500 was granted.
The following applications for sidewalk and curbing were granted on motion of
R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary with the provision that the work be done under
the supervision of the Engineering Department: -
R. G. McHatton - To recess curb 20 ft. for driveway on the west side of
Park'St. between Hillcrest Place and Phillips Lane.
Mable McClure - 50 ft. of 5 ft. park sidewalk on the west side of
Chorro St. between Islay and Leff St,
R. A. Dora - 50 ft. of 4 ft. sidewalk on the east side of Broad St.
between Center and lit. View Streetse

Chorro St.was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation
and report on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary.
Notification received from the State Board of Equalization for an "On Sale
Beer" license for Pairs. Ceferina Ramil at 891 Palm Street was ordered received and filed.

Communication received from the Office of Price Administration, Ira 1019 San
Luis Obispo, re: appointment of City paid clerk to work on ration board; on motion of
Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell, it was ordered that the appointment be extended
for 90 days dating from October 21, 1943. Motion carried and communication was ordered
filed.
The City licenses filed for Palmistry by Mary Merino at 993 Higuera St. and
Miller Adams at 1021 Morro St. were held over for further investigation.

Re: Traffic Control at Santa Rosa and Larsh St. was ordered received and filed on motion
of Joseph Leary, seconded by R. P. Howell.
Re: Communication from Dentzel & Whyte relative to Contractor's License for
Federal Housing Project was referred to Commissioner Howell and the City Attorney with
instructions to notify the contractor to discontinue off site work on streets and curbs
until proper permits have been filed.
