Mr. Andre, City Attorney, at this time, put in a word in behalf of the
Planning Commission; he went on to say-that they.are trying to do somethingfor the city
and have put in a lot of time and study on this thing,.and this zoning ordinance was
planned for the purpose of protecting the property owners of the city,
Mr. O'Reilly petitioned the body at this time, that this matter be held over
and continued until such time for the-property owners to file written protests.
Mrs. Varden wanted to know how the Planning Commission was created and how
the taxpayers would know when the final action on this matter is taken; the City Attorney
explained the procedure stating that this was merely a public hearing held by the City
Council and in turn they would submit their findings to the Planning Commission for
reconsideration and assured her that the planning Commission would notify her at the date
of their next meeting.
The group was informed-that a copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the
city clerk's office, subject to inspection at any time.
On motion of G.VI.Baker, seconded by Clyde T. 0 *Nan, the meeting adjourned.
