City Hall, Monday, June 10, 1946- 7:30 P. M.
The City Council met in adjourned session; Layor Ralph C. Kennedy presiding.
Present: G. ' :V. Baker, F. L. Gist, R. P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy
Absent: Clyde T. O'Nan
On motion of G.W. Baker, seconded by R. P. Howell, the City Clerk was in-
strutted to call for Bids on Mechanical Street Sweeper; Bids to be received up to 7:30
P. M. June 17th and publicly opened and read.
On motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by R. P. Howell, claim filed by the State
Compensation Insurance Fund in the amount of $900.99 for payment of insurance was
allowed.
Communication from League of California Cities Re: Annual conference at
San Diego, Sept. 16th to 19th was ordered received and filed.
Preliminary plans for new City Hall were submitted for study by architects,
Douglas & Holdredge.
The application of Ralph J. Vanderberg for registration as Class "D" Con-
tractor, together with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. Bond in the amount of
$1000 and registration fee of 125.00 received and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by
R. F. Howell, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration
granted.
Application of Southern Counties Gas Co. for permit to repair and make
alterations of mains and services at various locations was granted on motion of R. P.
Howell, seconded by G. ,V. Baker; work to be done under the supervision of the engineering
department.
The transfer of Belloni's Grocery Store at 1638 Osos St. to Velma Handy was
granted on motion 'of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker.
Communication from California_ Poly School Re: Agreement drawn between the City
of Ban Luis Obispo. and Director of Education of the State of California for the furnishing
of water to Cal Poly School was submitted to the Council, and on motion of F. L. Gist,
seconded by R. P. Howell, the Mayor was authorized to sign.
The application of Nor;aalk Oil Co. for ramp was denied on motion of R. F.
Howell, seconded by G. We Baker,and the completed work is to conform with specificationse
