Gist. Application of Edith Naslund for Lunch room at 850 Harsh St. was granted on motion of G. +J.Baker, seconded by R.P.Howell. On motion of G:W. Baker, seconded by F:L.Gis t the City Clerk was authorized to transfer $1142.32 from the General Fund to the City Hall Special Account, Commissioner F.L.Gist eras instructed to place $50,000 cover note on the fire in policies of the City to cover the U.S.O. Building and equipment on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by R.P.Howell. The City Clerk was instructed to call for Bids on Comprehensive and Liability Insurance policies for the City of San Luis Obispo; bids to be'opened at 7:30 P. M. Oct. 79 1946 on motion.of G.W.Baker, seconded by R.P.Howell. O'Nan, work to be done under the supervision of -the City Engineering Department: J. R. Rone - 50 ft. of sidewalk and gutter on the west side of Lincoln St.. between Chorro and Mt. View St. Gregg Soto- 50 ft. of sidewalk on the east side of Story St. between Sandercock and Branch St. J. R. Hutchison - 10 ft. of concrete ramp on the east side of Fixlini.St. between South of Spring Street Gregg Soto.- 13 ft. of replacing ramp on the north side of Pismo St. between Osos and Santa Rosa Streets, Lot 14, M.V.Tract. Rosa to James Vlanning Notifications received from the state Board of Equalization for transfer of the following licenses: Transfer -of "Off Sale General" from Albert A.Bay and Ed Greenall to Jess J.Vallely at 728 Marsh St. Transfer of "Beer and Nine Wholesaler's" , "Distilled Spirits Nholesajers ", "Distilled Spirits Importer's ", from Louis J. Morganti to Charles B. Lowe - and Louis J. Morganti at 698 Higuera St. The above transfers were ordered received and filed. Communication from the 1.1ilitary Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 100 requesting office space be allotted to the Veteran's Administration 'in the U.S.O. Bldg., was referred to the Park, Playground and Recreation Commission, on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist. The City Engineer, Kenneth Beck, presented contract, plans and specifications for the repairs to the City of San Luis Obispo Free Public Library, and on motion of R. P.Howell, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan it was ordered the plans and specifications be approved and adopted and the City Clerk instructed to call for bids - bids to be opened Oct. 7, 1946 at 7:30 P.M. Communication from Provost Marshal Vim. C.Rise, at Camp Morro say, Re: Taxicab rates and loading zone was ordered received and filed on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, second, by R.P.Howell. Reports of the City Treasurer for the months of July and August, 1946 were ordered received and filed. The applications for the renewal of city licenses for the October Quarter were granted on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan. Communication from Theo C.Maino and :y. Madonna together with map showing Tract 143 requesting that (1) The City furnish letter stating that they will supply water to the complete subdivisi (2) Request of Agreement that subdividers be reimbursed for the cost of the water system, based on the engineer's estimate of $5,336.00. It was moved by R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist, that the City Clerk be instructed to write Mr. Maino informing him that the city .would furnish water to the tract when his lines are completed. The second request of his letter was referred to Commissioner Howell for investigation and report back to the Council. Permit No. 32 filed by Claude J. Sargent to hang metal sign at 306 Higuera St. lwas granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by F.L.Gist. The Merchandising Bond filed by Arthur Salter as principal and Max H.Salter, Ralph Germann andAndrew Renetzky as surety, was presented to the Council and on motion lof F.L. Gist, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan, the bond was approved and surety accepted and license ordered issued when bond is properly signed by the principal. Application for transfer of license for Auto Camp Cabins from C. M. Long to T. L. Parker was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Tgan, seconded by F.L.Gist. Application of E. C. 'Wride for Taxicab License was granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by F. L. Gist. Transfer of License for Soft Drinks from Ed LeBrun to Jesse Ylunez at 960 Higuera St. was granted on motion of Clyde T.. O'Nan, seconded by F. L. Gist. Communication from George LeMar Treanor, Police Officer, requesting a leave of absence for 90 days beginning Oct. 1, 1946 was.granted on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R. P. Howell. he: Communication from AMVETS requesting permission for truck exhibit of captured war equipment in the city ( date not mentioned) was granted and location to be decided by the Police Dept. on motion of Clyde T. O'Nan, seconded by R.P.Howell. Re o Communication from Veterans Administration requesting space in the U.S.O. Bldg. was referred to the Recreation Commission on motion of R.P.Hoviell, seconded by F.L. Gist. Communication from Mr. Wm. B. Dawson requesting payment of $25.00 for damage to vegetable garden caused by impounded animal was referred to Commissioner'F.L.Gist and the City Attorney. The City Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Johnson that the City would not allow anymore water connections on city water line beyond the city limits along Johnson Ave., on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist. Commissioner Howell was authorized to hire the necessary equipment to prepare the Housing site for Veterans Homes on Tract 34 on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by Clyde T. O'Nan. Members of the Recreation Commission appeared before the City Council for information on the operation of the new U.S.O. Bldg. Mayor Kennedy asked the Commission to present a plan outlining all phases of recreation activities to be undertaken and submit it for the Council's approval. Commissioner Clyde T. O'Nan, verbally presented his resignation as Commissioner and asked that it become effective not later than Oct. 71 1946. No acceptance was made at this time and he was advised to tender it by letter, for consideration by the Council at the next meeting. On motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by Clyde T.
