Present: G.W.Baker, r.L.Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Lbsent: None The minutes of December 16th and Dec. 30th, 1946 were read and approved as read The bond of Harry A.Truesdale ( Police Judge) as principal and the United States Fidelity andGua ranty Co. as surety in the amount of $1000 was approved by the LSayor and Council. The application of California Amusement Co. for Carnival, shop,; date April L5th to April 20th was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for in- vestigatidn and report. On motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by G.N.Baker, thefollowing i_2rchandising Bonds vaere approved and license ordered issued: Hollis & Lucile Brown, dba Monterey i%arket, Ldse. Groceries and iv'.eats, 1601 Monterey St. 7orda rlarden, Lincoln L-ercury agency, 1131 mionterey St. The application f'or transfer of license from Gladys Oates ( Anderson Hotel Bigar Store) to Fern L Jackson was granted on motion of G. 'rd. Baker, seconded by R. P. io % ^je 11. The application for transfer of license from H. S. I•Iisbet, 1022 Liorro 5t. to Frank Carvaio dba "Nisbets" was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety f:;r. investigation and report. Communication from San Luis Obispo Chamber of Corzmerce requesting permission to erect six strongs of banners publicizing the event of the ',.estern Fairs Assn., and also permission to paint large "footsteps" with whitewash on the sidewalks, from Feb. 16th through Feb. 21st; permission was granted oh motion of R. F. Howell, seconded by Kline Villisms, as was also the request to erect thr.:e large banners across the streets adver- tising "Greater Value Days" from January 23rd through the 25th. Communication from San Luis Obispo Planning Commission together with sketch nap of the proposed freeway through the city was referred to the Council as a whole, and the same ajas ordered received and filed on motion of G. W.. Baker, seconded by Kline Willi The following reports were ordered received and filed on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by Kline Williams: '.ity Collector's report for the month of December, 146 Police Judge's Report for the month of Dec. Inspector " Claims against the city for the m.anth of December 1946 were ordered paid, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departure_ts and the Layor. Communication from 'Vm. Kalechman Re: The Goldtree property was referred to the Co=aissioner of Public 'Works for investigation and report on motion of G.�'u.Baker, seconded by Kline Williams. Communication from the City Clerk submitting petitions protesting the passage Df Ordinance No. 275 (New aerie) was presented to the Council and on fiction of F.L.Gist, seconded by R.',"-. Howell, it was ordered they be held for reconsideration by the Council. On motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by F.L.Gist, the City Clerk was authorized ;o draw a v:Grrant on the Administration Fund in the amount of '$275.00 payable to the League of California Cities for 1947 membership dues. Willis, dba Polly Cafe at 412 Higuera St. was granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R.P.Howell. ypplication for transfer of license from Corky's &-. Danny's, 1177 Marsh 3t. from Joseph B. Soto to James D.3oto was granted on Lotion of Kline Villiams, seconded by R.P.Howell. Application for transfer of license of Garden Dairy at 341 Higuera St. from George F. bioerman to Calvin L. ,Villiams and Thos. D.Collins dba " +idillcoll Store" was- granted on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R.P.Howell. Kennedy, Kline Kline :]illiams oe s : None bsent: None Re: Bid on Lubriacting oil as per bid submitted: On motion of G.1.Baker, econded by F.L.Gist, the bid was awarded to the Tide Water Associated Gil Co. for Veedol for oil at 65¢ per gal. bbl. lots, and the P,layor was authorized to sign the contract. On motion of R.P.
