On motion of Kline..Williams,.seconded by..G.W.'Baker, it was ordered the taxi zone
granted to the B & R Taxi Co.. on Osos St, side at.konterey..St. alongside the Horse Shoe
Cafe be' discontinued.
Communication from the Pacific Tel: and Tel. Co. addressed to the Mayor giving
notice of a.hearing to be held in San Francisco cn March 101 1947, before the Public
Utilities Commission of the State of California was ordered received and filed.

The City Council met in regular session; Mayor Ralph C. Kennedy presiding.

The minutes of Feb. 17th and the Special meetings of Feb. 25th and Feb. 26th, 1947
were read and approved as read.
The. following applications for City licenses were.granted on motion of Kline
Williams,.seconded by R.P.Howell:

The application of.Hazel.Blanks, 1629 Johnson.Ave..for.a license for. "Pet Shop"
was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report.
The following Merchandising Bonds.were presented to the Council and on motion of
R..P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker, the surety was accepted, ,bonds approved and
licenses ordered issued:

Communication from..San.Luis..Obispo Grange #639..Re: parking space at the Grange
Hall for Automobiles and asking for a 30 ft. space immediately adjoining the hall on the
south side, and on motion of $line.Williams, seconde.d..by G.W..Baker, the City Engineer was
instructed to have a survey made to establish the official location of the street, and
communication was ordered filed for future reference:` ,
Communication from.Hazel Blanks,.1629 Johnson Ave. Re: purchase of part of
Lot 3, Blk 2, Breck Tract was ordered received and filed.on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded
by R.P.Howell.
Communication .from..League..of.California Cities Re: Legislative intention of
the Board of .Directors of the League to sponsor.a.bill authorizing the State Board of
Equalization to re- assess all properties for the purpose to equalize assessments was
ordered received.and filed on motion.of.R.P.Howell, seconded by Kline Williams.
On motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by.Kline Williams, the City Clerk was
authorized to.refund Anita N. Hathway $24.00 on application for building permit filed
November 29, 1946 as the work was not started, due to government regulations. _
Claims against the City for the month of February were ordered paid subject
to,the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor.
Resolution.No..789 (New Series) - A Resolution placing the Park, Playground
and Recreation Commission and Department under.the-Commissioner of Finance and Revenue;
also all Public buildings not necessarily .included.under...the Department of-Public Works
or the..Department of Public Health and Safety was passed.and..adopted on motion of R.P.
.Howell, seconded by Kline Williams upon the,following roll call vote:

City Health Officer requiring food handlers-to have chest % -Ray examinations was passed

Resolution No,-791:;-(New Series) - A Resolution declaring certain portions
of Broad Street and Johnson Ave. to be and constitute boulevards, and revoking a certain
portion of Buchon Street from being a boulevard was passed and adopted on motion of
G.W.Baker, seconded by Kline Williams upon.the following vote:

This being the date fixed by the Council for receiving bids to sell at Public
auction, 1 - 4- DoorFord Sedan, the following bid.was the only bid received:
Bid of Paul Ottis Fanner in the amount of $350.00 -
and do motion of G.W. Baker, seconded by Kline Williams, the bid was rejected and the
City Clerk was instructed to re- advertise for.bids to be opened on March 17, 1947 at
7:30 P.M.
