Be Douglas & William Decker Holdredge, architects, was passed and adopted on motion of G:W.Baker, seconded by F.L.Gist upon the following vote: Ayes: G.W. Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, Kline Williams Noes: None Absent: None On motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker, it was ordered that the Security Title Insurance Co. be authorized to make search of title on portions of Lot 1 & 4, Block 82 of the City of-San Luis Obispo. Kennedy Absent: Kline Williams The following matters were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report on motion of F..L. Gist, seconded by G. W. Baker: Application of Herbert Cohen for Card Table License - 964 Monterey St; Application of Orville.J. Laurent for.fireworks at Service Sta. on South Highway The Merchandising bond of.Arthur C.Bergman, dba Surge Dairy Service-for selling farm equipment at 711 Monterey 3t. in the amount of. -$200 with the U.3.-Fidelity and Guaranty Co. was referred to the Building Inspector for investigation as to the location and report back to the Council. The Merchandising Bond of Mary Edith Ross and Lettie E. Hennings, dba "The Palms at 676 Monterey St., together with certified check ih the amount of $200 posted in lieu of bond was received and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by F. L. Gist, the surety was accepted, and license ordered issued. The application for transfer of license from Chas. Sigsbee Grocery to Chas. Drew at 104 Price 3t..was referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for in- vestigation acid report. The transfer of license of the Tri County Novelty Co. for Mechanical Amusement Devices and Vending Machines from J.A. Greenelsh to..C. P..Hunsaker, dba O.K.Music Co. was granted on motion of F. L. Gist, seconded by R. P. Howell. 7 MO The application of C. E. Pumphrey. for registration as Class "D" contractor together with U. S. Fidelity and Guaranty Co. bond in the amount of $1000 and registration fee of $25.00 received and on motion of F.L.Gist, seconded by R,P,Ho::ell, it was ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted. Communication from San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce thanking the Council and employees-for their part in the public sales tax meeting held on March 24th; same was ordered received and filed. Communication from-Seth Kinney, President of City Employees Assn. requesting action on petition filed by the employees for a 20% salary increase which was presented last December, and requested that the Council consider granting this increase at this time, as of April 1st, 1947.; same was ordered received and filed on motion of G.W. Baker, seconded by F. L. Gist, and filed. The Treasurer's report for the month of February 1947 was ordered reeeived Claim of Ralph B. Files in.the amount.of 041.75 on the Public Health and Safe Fund for damages to uniform, due to an accident on January 4, 1947 was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, onmotion of F.L.-Gist, seconded by R.P.Howell. Claim filed by O.R. Johnson and Bertie J. Johnson for $300 on the Water Fund for water taken and consumed by the City of San Luis Obispo for water service for one year at the rate of $25.00 per month, was ordered that the claim be denied on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded icy G. W. Baker. Resolution.No..-800 (New Series) - A Resolution providing for the execution by the City of San Luis Obispo of an Agreement to rent space in the City Recreation Building to the Veterans Administration of the United States of America was passed and adopted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker upon the following roll call vote: Ayes: G.W. Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy Noes: None Absent: Kline Williams Resolution No..801 (New Series) - A Resolution modifying Section 2015, California Administrative Code, so as to apply the City Sales Tax to Sales of Property shipped from a point outside the City to a purchaser within the City where there is any element of sale taking place within the city in addition to delivery was passed and adopted on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by F. L. Gist upon the following vote: Ayes: G.W.Baker, F.L.Gist, R.P,Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy Noes: None Absent: Kline Williams Resolution No. 802 (New Series) - A Resolution requesting financial aid from the State of California for the proposed Municipal Sewage Works Addition was passed and adopted on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.
