Kennedy Absent: Kline Williams The minutes of April 21st were read and approved as read. The certified check in the amount of $200 posted by H. J. Dubin in lieu of a bond--'covering a merchandising license was accepted and license ordered issued on motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by R. P. Howell. The following transfer of licenses were ordered granted on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by G.W.Baker: Transfer of Dennis Dairy Lunch from Leonard Ray_to Johnny A Lund at 854 Higuera St. Transfer of license of A.Sauer & Co. from A.Sauer to Libhart, Navoni & Roach, dba A. Sauer Co. at 848 Monterey St. The fcllowing notifications fromthe State Board of Equalization were ordered received and filed: "Off Sale Beer & Wine" license for Mrs. Edna J. Litchfield at 695 Higuera St. Transfer of "On Sale Beer and Wine" license from Won Le On, Ngoey W. Lee, Garson Lee Won Hoy Chew & Lee Wing to, , Garson Lee, Wing H. Yee, Yuen F.Wong, Won Sik Kim & Yee Wing Bok dba "Gold Dragon" at 985 Monterey St. Transfer of "Off Sale Beer and Wine" from Hollis B. & Lucille M. Brown to Fray Gorham & Edward Greenall, 1601 Monterey St. The following reports were ordered received and filed: Report of the City Collector for the month of April, 1947 Police Judge ^ " ft n Police Dept. Inspector " " it tt City Treasurer for the month of March, 1947 Communication received from Doris Garcelon, Librarian, inviting the Mayor and members of the City Council to inspect the new electric charging machine which is being installed in the City Library. Communication was ordered received and filed. Communication from Kenneth Beck, Engineer, recommending that the Council accept the Bid submitted by R. McGray of Santa Maria for the Relocation of a 12 inch City Water main across San Luis Creek, and on motion of R.P. Hornell, seconded by G.W.Baker, it was moved that the bid be awarded to R. McGray for the sum of $1985.00; Motion carried. The City Clerk was authorized to return the checks to the unsuccessful bidders. Communication received from H.J. Dubin stating that on account of the unreasonably figure of $124.00-which was quoted him for bringing down to the established grade, the ground in front of his property on Hathway Ave.,he rescinded his offer made on April 21, 1947 in connection with the said proposed work. Communication was ordered received and filed on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by G. W. Baker. Communication from George Stephan, Executive Director, of Housing Authority, re: paving of walks, etc. at Santa Rosa Park Homes area - same was referred to the Com- missioner of Public Works, R.P.Howell, for report. Application of Joseph W; Martin for a position in one of the departments of the city was ordered received and filed, on motion of R.P.Howe11, seconded by G.W. Baker. Application filed by John A. Tucker, applying for a position as Police Officer was ordered received and filed. Communication from Federal Works Agency, Bureaa of Community Facilities, relative to the City of San Luis Obispo carrying insurance on the former U.S.O. Bldg; the matter was referred to the Commissioner of Finance for investigation and report, on motion of G. W. Baker, seconded by R.P.Horaell. 1 LF� 1 1 1
