Hall, R.P.Howell, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams Absent: None The Minutes of the meeting of Dec. 15th, 1947 were approved Co=unication from Hazel Blanks offering to buy 25 ft. of Lot 3, Block 2 of the Breck Tract ( city owned property) was referred to the City Clerk with instruct to write and inform her the property is not for sale, on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by Kline Williams. Communication from Standard Brands Inc. protesting City License fee of $75.00 as required by Ordinance No. 295 (New Series) was ordered received and filed on motion of Wm. O.Hall, seconded by R. P Howell. Communication from Maino Construction Co. offering to rent pact of Block 19 ( city hall site) for material storage lot during construction of Telephone Building was referred to Commissioner of Finance, - Maino to secure waiver from San Luis Obispo Theatre Co. on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R.P. Howell. Communication fron Division of Highways requesting cancellation of taxes for 1947 -48 on property from Julius J. Sieff -- same was referred to Commissioner of Finance on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by R.P.Howell. Communication from Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Division 664, asking for information relative to the number of Crossing accidents. The letter was referredto the City Clerk for reply and to furnish information available. Communication from Wilson's Flower Shop applying for hooded meter in front of their place of business was referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety on motion of G.W.Baker, seconded by R.P.Howell. Communication from National Biscuit Co. Re: City License tax for Trucks was referred to the City Clerk for reply. Communication from Edward A. Olexewicz ( Ed's Mechanical Service) applying for transfer of city license from 687 Pacific St. to 904 High St. and communication from 1�joods Sign Service applying for transfer of city license from 678 Marsh St. to 910 High St. were referred to the City Engineering Dept. for investigation and report on motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by G.W.Baker. Commissioner of Supplies was authorized to purchase the necessary number of Service Car Cards for the Police Department. It was ordered by the Council that all matters pertaining to Zoning be cleared through the City Engineer's office, and all complaints and inquiries to be re- ferred and cleared through the proper Commissioner for action. The following reports were ordered received and filed: Report of Police Judge for the month of December, 1947 Report of the Building Inspector " It it " of Police Dept. " it " It of City Treasurer If If November, 1947 Claims against the City for the month of December, 1947 were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor. Klemm ( Music Vending Machines) Communication from Mrs. R.E.Samson Re: complaint about the lack of sidewalks San Luis Obispo along Jol-mson Ave. was ordered received and filed on motion of Wm. 0. 11, seconded by R. P.Howell. P. Howell: - Associated Service Station , transferred from Jack W.Sharp to Arthur E.Leister - Union Oil Station transferred from Elmer Russell to Carl Coxsey Mallory's Grocery from Henry T. Mallory to Merle A and Lillian Mallory Re: Bids on Gasoline and Oil - The Commissioner of Supplies by common consent the Council, awarded the following bids on gasoline and oil for the 1948 requirements to: 1 - Gasoline Bid awarded to Union Oil Co. at .01¢ under the tank wagon price effective at time and place pf delivery, ( excluding federal tax ) 2 - Lubricating Oil awarded to Texas Co. - Havoline ( Bbl Lots) @ .68¢ Fire Chief Waldmeier was granted permission to attend the Fire Chi's Conference to be held inSan Bernardino, Calif. on January 24, 1948. On motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by Wm.O.Hall, Frank Stefancich's time is to e changed from daily basis to regular city employee at $247.00 per month as of Jan. 1, 1948 On motion of Kline Williams, seconded by G W.Baker, Commissioner R.P.Howell s authorized to build a Repair Shop and storeroom at the Santa Barbara Ave. Yards, con- truction to be financed out of the Public Improvement and Betterment Fund. On motion of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by R. P. Howell and by common consent of Council, the City Clerk was instructed to transfer the following monies to the City 11 Building Reserve Account: FromvInterest Reserve Account From,Interest Current Account From,,City Water Fund From General Fund From Public Imp. and Betterment $ 29,600.00 10,000.00 50,000.00 10,000.00 20,000.00 It was moved by R.
