PR17177dT: Douglas Carpenter, Wm. 0. Hall, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Kline Williams, Frank V. Woods. ABSrNT: None The minutes of the meetings of August 22, 24, & 29, 1949 were approved. Communication from Eizen Baize of Freeburg, Germany, asking the Council for assist- ance to establish himself and two friends in America was referred to the Lutheran Pastor, Rev. Walter Loretz, on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Wm. 0. Hall. Communication from Mr. & Mrs. A. T. Stenner Re: water line on Toro St. between Murray St. & Foothill Blvd. was referred to the City Attorney with instructions to draft an agreement, on motion of Wm. 0. Hall and Frank V. Woods. Communication from Harold D. Callaway, 647 Woodbridge St., submitting a bid of $25-00 D Carpenter, seconded b Wm. 0. Hall on the old White truck (1922), on motion of Douglas p , y and common consent of the Council, the offer was accepted. The following merchandise bond and contractor's bonds were approved, surety accepted, and licenses ordered issued: 1. John Anderson, p.o. Box 367 Oceano, Calif. Class "D" General 2. Loren Newman, 211 Alpine St., Arroyo Grande, Calif. Class "D ", General 3. Valley Paving; and Construction Co:, Pismo Beach, Ca].i.f. Class "C ", General contracting of grading, paving, etc. 4. Merchandise Bond.of Madeline A. Courtney, 1126) Chorro St., Mdse.,Books, & Gifts. The .followinm. reports were ordered received and filed on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Timothy I. " " Apr41 1949 Quarter Claims against the City for the month of August, 1949 were .allowed, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments and.the Mayor. The application of Gallock Si?n Service, Donald E. Gallock, for a sign painting license at 1121 Broad St, was granted on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Kline Williams. The followi.n applications for transfer of city license were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report: 1. Obispo Hotel, 1025 Court St. from Jack Madison to Agnes M. Hughes 2. Munoz Service Station, 990 Higuera St., from Jesse Aiunoz to Edward F.Russell. OLD BUSINESS The following applications for city licenses and applications for transfer of city licenses were granted on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Kline Williams: 1. Denny L. Marker and i'ugene J. Medzyk, lodging hou ^e, 1206 Palm St. 2. Jack G. Green, card table, 1026 Morro St. 3. Transfer of Marshall Hotel, 874 Hi.puera St.,, from H. A. Gorham to Charles H. Johnson. 14. Transfer of Pacific Hotel, 158 Higuera St., from Lela B. Alston to Lela F. San RESOLUTION No. 911 (New Series) covering an agreement with the City or San Luis Obispo and K. H. Coleman and Lleanora Coleman was passed and adopted on motion. of Wm. 0. Hall, seconded by Frank V. Woods by the following roll call vote: 1 Ayes: D. M. Carpenter, Wm. 0. Hall, Timothy I.
