The question as to duplicating jail facilities in the new building were discussed
and Mayor O'Reilly, Commissioners Hall, Carpenter and Williams were all in favor of omit-
ting the jail facilities and building cell blocks in the municipal building at 738 Pismo
St. Building to be retained for the use of the police department exclusively. Commission
Wood did not approve but expressed no objections.
Resolutions No. 910 (New Series) was readopted at this time, on motion of,D..M.
Carpenter, seconded by Wm. 0. Hall, upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: D. M. Carpenter, Wm. 0. Hall, Timothy I. O'Reilly; Frank V. Woods, Kline Williams.

The purpose of this: A resolution concerning the bonding of a City requires a
Communication from Regis C. Thornton, police officer, submitting his resignation
as of August 31, 1949, was accepted on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Kline
Williams.
Communication from C. A.Maino requesting that the City Council pass an ordinance
prohibiting the placing of signs on private property wqs studied. and reviewed by the Coun-
cil and on motion of Douglas Carpenter seconded bir'iimothy I. O'Reilly, the City Clerk
was instructed to write Mr. C. A. Maino and advise him that the City has no jurisdiction
in this matter, upon the following roll call vote:

o'clock A.M. was accepted by the Co»ncil.
Communication from A. V. Muller Re: a water contract with the Anholm Bros. was
referred to the Citv Attornev, on motion of Kline Williams, seconded by Frank V.Woods.
Communication from R.W. Goodell, President of the Chamber of Commerce, asking the
City to represent the Chambers at the Southern Pacific Company Hearing, was referred to
the Mal7or.
