Davis, Fran!, V.Woods, Fred Lucksinger,Timothy I.0'Reilly Absent: None The minutes of the meeting of September 4, 1951 were approved. First order of business: This being the time set as per advertised Notice for receiving Bids onthe Santa Rosa `treet Paving, thefollowing bids were publicly opened and read: 1 - Valley Paving and Construction Co., Inc., Pismo Beach, inthe amount of $ 179$25.32 2 - Madonna ConstructionCo., SanLuis Obispo, it " " " 21,513.50 3 - Granite Construction Company, Salinas, Calif.inthe amount of 21,254.07 4 - Walter Bros. San Luis Obispo, 15,596.60 After review and study by the Council, it was moved by D. M.Carpenter, seconded by Frank V. Woods, the bid be awarded to the Valley Paving & Construction Co. Inc of Pismo 37[ Beach, inthe amount of $ 17,325.32 subject to the a-Pproval of the State, and that the bid bonds and certified checks be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. Resolution No. 1044 (New Series) - A Resolution accepting Bid for Santa Rcsa Street Paving, was passed and adopted on motion of D.P2. Carpenter, seconded by Frank V. 141cods, upon the following roll gall vote: Ayes: D. M. Carpenter, P"a11r"^1. Davis, FredLucksinger, TimothyI. O'Reilly, Frank V. Woods Noes: None Absent: None ' The following applications for.Contractor's Licenses were presented to the Council and on motion of Paul ,W. Davis, seconded by Frank V. Woods,the bonds were approved, surety accepted and licenses ordered issued: 1 - Bob Bosnvak - Class "A" General Contractor 2 - M. G. Simonette, Class "E" Painting Contractor Oh motionof Paul W. Davis, seconded by Timothy I.�j'Reilly, the Labor and Material Pond and Performance Bond posted. by Bob Bosnyak covering the Foothill Imp. District was approved by the Council and the Mayor authorized to sign the contract. The following work was approved and accepted and payment.was authorized by Council on notion of Paul 11. Davis, seconded by Fred Lucksingdr: 1 - Payment 410 in the amount of 914,415.02 to O.R. Ochs & Son on the new City Hall Building Contract. 2 - Payment Nn,410 in the amount of $600. to William D. Holdredge on the supervision of the City Hall Building Contract. 3 - Gerrett Motors inthe amount of r 3,157.56 in ' ayment of 2 ton Studebaker Dump Truck. Communication from Volunteers of America asking permission to hold their annual tag day drive in San Luis Obispo on September 29, 1951, was granted on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Fred Lucksinger. C) Report of City Buil.dinF Inspector for the month of August, 1051, was ordered 7 c2 received and filed on motion of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly. Ordinance Pdo. 353 (New Series) - An Ordinance reclassifying as M -1 District, et al, was finally passed on motion of Fred Lucksinger, seconded by Timothy I. 0' Rei.11ir upon the following . roll call vote: Ayes: D.M.Crrnenter, Paul W. Davis, Fred Lucksinger, Timothy I.O'Reilly, Frank V. Woods Noes: Nond Absent: None Resolution No. 1045 (New Series ) - A Resolution declaring certain portions of Snn.dercock and Mill Streets to Be and Constitute Boulevards, was passed and adopted on motion of Frank V.Woods, seconded by Fred Lucksinger, uponthe following roll call vote: Ayes: D.M.Carnenter, Paul W. Davis, Fred Lucksinger, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Frank V.Woods Noes: None Absent : None Petition filed by Frank Funk et al ( 21 signers) requesting the City eouncil to take necessary steps to insure legal parking along Monterey Street, from Santa Rosa Street to Johnson Ave. was read to the Council: It was moved by Fred Lucksinger, seconded by Frank V. Woods that the Council adopt the plan as outlined in the petition and the proper signs be ordered. Old Business The following matters were held over: Communication from Frank Sorenson Re: grass bill and damage Communication from G. B. Peterson Re: Radio supplies Estimate of cost on Air Raid Alarm System On motion of D.M.Carpenter, seconded by Frank V. Woods, and common consent of the Council, it was ordered that the $180 charge for fire line charged to Emerson School he cancellers as requested by the `?an Luis Obispo City School Board. On motion. of Frank V. Woods, seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly, Peter R. Andre was appointed Deputy City Attorney, the position to involve no salary. The Council authorized and approved change order No. 1, revised in the amount of 91,249.00 on the City Hall Building Contract as submitted by 0. R.Ochs and Son. Communication from Commissioner Woods requesting more personnel for the Police Department, was ordered received and filed on motion of D. M. Carpenter, and seconded by Timothy I. O'Reilly upon the following roll call vote:- Ayes: D.M.Carpenter, Paul W. Davis, Fred Lucksinger, Timothy I. O'Reilly, Frank V.Woods Noes: None Absent: None Mr. Asher Shaw , Manager of the Fremont Theatre, requested meter hoods for loading zone from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The matter was referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety to work cut. The Contract covering Foothill Sewer Line from Tasajara to Ferrini Road, work done by Webb Construction Co. it was moved by D. M. Carpenter, seconded by Fred Lucksinger, that the work be approved and finally accepted by the Council. On morion of D. M. Carpenter, seconded by Frank V. Woods, the meeting was adjourned.
