On motion of Paul `•J.Davis, seconded by Richard E.Gragg, the City Co:mcil adjourned until
V''ednesday, May 19th at 3 P.M. in order to meet with General Robertson, State Director of Civil Defense,
upon the following roll call vote:

Noes: None

The City Council met in adjourned session; Mayor Fred H. Lucksinger presiding.
Present: Nels Beck, Richard E.Gragg, Kenneth vi.Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger

Resolution No. 1335 (New Series) - A Resolution transferring Funds from the Unbudgeted
Reserve to Account No. 416 was passed and adopted on motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Richard E.Gragg
upon the following roll call vote:
Ayes: Nels Beck, Richard E.Gragg, Kenneth W. Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger
Noes: None
Absent: Paul W.Davis
Resolution No. 1336 (New Series) - A Resolution transferring Funds from the Unbudgeted
Reserve to Account No. 403 and to Account No. 219 was passed and adopted on motion of Nels Beck, seconded
by Kenneth W.Jones upon the following roll call vote:

Communication from the California State Poly College was ordered received and filed on motion
of Kenneth V�.Jones, seconded by Richard E.Gragg..
Communication from the Division of Highways was ordered received and filed on motion of
Kenneth W.Jones, seconded by Richard E.Gragg.
The City Engineer, Homer Harilin, was authorized to order signs for busimess routes through
the City of San Luis Obispo.
The Financial statement from Willeford & Wiltshire from July 1, 1953 and ending March 312 1954
was ordered received and filed.
Mr. Kenneth W.Jones discussed parking_in the lot behind the City Hall and the possibility of
certain areas bein.7 marked "For Customers Parking Only ".
Mr. Richard Miller reported to the Council relative to telephone conversation with Judge
Jackson; he stated that he was inclined to agree with the city's viewpoint, that it would be illegal for
the city to hire extra help for the Justice Court, however, he felt that the legal opinion to be rendered
by the City Attorney would be a great help to him in supporting his contention when he appears before the
Boqrd of Supervisors with his request for additional personnel.
On motion of Richard E.Gragg, seconded by Nels Beck, the meeting adjourned to Friday, clay
