City Hall, Tuesday, April 12, 1955- 5 :30 P.M.
The City Council met in Special Session; Mayor Fred H.Lucksinger presiding.
Present: T'els Beck, Warren G. Edwards, Kenneth tiJ.Jones, Fred H.Lucksinger
Absent: Paul W.Davis
The Council -acting as a Canvassing Board now proceeded to canvass and count the
absentee ballots for the Municipal General Election held on April 4, 1955, the follow-
ing is a tabulation of the results of the official canvass of the 48 absentee ballots
for the following respective offices:

Resolution No. 1442 (New Series) A Resolution declaring the results of the
Election held on April 4, 1955 was passed and adopted on motion of Kenneth W.Jones,
seconded by Nels.Beck upon the following vote:
ayes: Nels Beck, Warren G.Edwards, Kenneth :;.Jones, Fred H.Lucksinger
Noes: None
Absent: Paul VJ. Davis
Resolution No. 1443 (New Series) - A Resolution declaring and finding that the
proposed charter of the City of San Luis Obi si submitted to the qualified voters of
said City on April 4, 1955, received the majority votes in favor of its adoption was
passed and adopred on motion of Kenneth W.Jones, seconded by Nels Beck upon the follow-
ing vote:
Ayes: Niels Beck, Warren G.Edwards, Kenneth W.Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger
Noes: None

On motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Kenneth '.,;.Jones, the Mayor and City Clerk were
instructed to sign Certificate of Proceedings taken by the City of San Luis Obispo in
framing a Charter for its own government. After completion of the Certificate, the
Mayor and Citv Clerk were instructed to forward same with the Charter, to Senator Erhart
for ratification of the State Legislature.
