Christie The City Clerk reported on the following bids received and opened for Improvements to the Municipal Parking Lot ;3, August 27, 1956, 2 P.M. 1. A. Madonna Construction Co. $ 19,341.50 2. A. J. Diani Construction Co. 209$47.00 3. Walter Brothers Construction Co. 21,989.00 Mr. Miller, Cit Administrative Officer, recommended to the Council that the low bid of A. Madonna for 19,341.50 be accepted. On motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Kenneth W. Jones the bid was awarded to Madonna Construction Co. The City Clerk reported on the following bids received and opened for Sanitary Sewers & Water Mains, Walter St.- Laurel Lane Industrial Area, August 27, 19562 3 P.M. ' Project #1 Project #2 Total 1. Ochs & Son $ 9,559.40 $ unit 2.only 2. L. E. Webb Construction Co. $643995.89 15,915.3$ 809911.27 3. W. M. Lyles Co. 60,725.67 $,979.7$ 69,705.45 Mr. Richard D. Miller, City Administrative Officer, recommended that the low bid of W. M. Lyles Co. combined Project , #1 and Project #2 for the sum of $69,705.45 be accepted. On motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Nels Beck, the bid was awarded to W. M. Lyles Co. Ordinance No. 32 (1956 Series) An Ordinance Levying a Tax for the Current Fiscal Year 1956- 57 upon all Taxable Property within the City of San Luis Obispo, and Fixing the Rate of such tax was passed to print on motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Nels Beck, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Nels Beck, Warren G. Edwards, Kenneth W. Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger NOES: None ABSENT: Lowell E. Christie. Mr. Richard D. Miller presented to the Council the proposal of Taper Tube Pole Company to furnish four single dual automatic parking meters at fifty -five dollars ($55.00) each and 27 double dual automatic parking meters at ninety dollars each. Mr. Miller reported that this was the lowest bid received and recommended to the Council that the Council accept the proposal of the Taper Tub eCo. Introduction of Resolution No. 121 (1956 Series) A Resolution Authorizing the Execution of Contract for the Purchase of Parking Meters from Taper Tube Pole Co. was passed and adopted on motion of Nels Beck, seconded by Kenneth W. Jones, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Nels Beck, Warren G. Edwards, Kenneth W. Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger NOES: None ABSENT: Lowell E. Christie The report of the Traffic Committee was ordered held over. The claim for damages from Aslly E. Johns was ordered received and filed. Communication from Roger M. Drake, 665 Grove Street, regarding the street improvement on the access road to the Hathway property on the extention of Hillcrest Street was referred to the City Engineer. Introduction of Resolution No. 122 (1956 Series) A Resolution Increasing the 1956 -57 Budget was passed and adopted on motion of Kenneth W. Jones, seconded by Warren G. Edwards, by the following roll call vote: ' AYES: Nels Beck, Warren G. Edwards, Kenneth W. Jones, Fred H. Lucksinger NOES: None ABSENT: Lowell E. Christie Mr. Richard D. Miller, City Administrative Officer, presented for the Council the 1956 Inventory of city property. On motion of Nels Beck seconded by Kenneth W. Jones, the inventory was ordered received and filed. .Y Communication from Paso Robles Pioneer Day inviting the City of San Luis Obispo to participate ' in the Paso Robles Pioneer Day parade by having the San Luis Obispo Fire Department hose wagon as an entry. The request was approved by the Council and the City Clerk was instructed to write the parade committee telling them who to contact regarding the parade. Mr. Richard D. Miller, City Administrative Officer, was requested to write the Division of Highways, District 5 Headquarters, thanking them for the improvements made by the Division of Highways on the approaches to the City of San Luis Obispo to Highway 1, North •�_ of the City limits. Mr. Richard D. Miller, City Administrative Officer, presented to the Council the lighting plan of Pacific Gas & Electric for Benton Way when the center islands have been removed also the cost of ornamental electroliers to the property owners on Benton Way. Mr. Miller also presented a proposed plan for Meinecke Way, if and when the residents desire lights.
