HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/23/1962Mayor Davidson stated that he felt the real problem was a matter of jurisdiction over the lake itself. It is a matter of control. The lake is operated by the County but the water is used by the City. The City has the permit but has no control over the operation of the lake itslef. As long as the City operates in this manner, the County should not expand. At this time Supervisor Perkins introduced the following motion: That a resolution be drawn up by the Administrative Officer to present to the Board on Monday, directed to the State Health Department, requesting a reply to our request for overnight camping as Santa Margarita Lake. The motion was seconded by Supervisor-Drake and carried on the following roll call vote: ' AYES: Supervisor Lee, Perkins, Drake Noes: None Absent: Supervisor Gates Abstaining : Supervisor Kimball On motion of Councilman Graves, seconded -by Councilman Shipsey, the meeting was adjourned at 12:40 P.M. �f' /G L ��• t_ ADJOURNED MEETING OF CITY COUNC March 23, 1962 - 12:00 Noon MOTEL INN Roll Call Present: Miss Margaret M. Also Present Robert Goodell of the Telegram-Tribune --------- - --------- - ---------------------- - --- - - - 1. City Council met with eight Japanese Political Newspaper Writers who were touring the U. S. under.the sponsorship of Japanese Newspaper-Editors and Publishers Association (JNEPA). The tour.. was designed to familiarize the writers with the political institutions and journalism practiced in the U. S. The City Council, Japanese newspaper writers, City Staff members and escorts dicusssed local government relations with a newspaper, particularly with referance to the City of San Luis Obispo and then the Japanese newspaper writers answered questions regarding local government relations with Japanese newspapers. Dr. Frank of Cal Poly thanked the City Council and Staff for the cooperation and courtesy to this group of visitors to this City.
