1. . Commander Gullickson.presented to the City.Council his annual report of
civil defense activities in the City and County of San Luis Obispo.
Commander Gulliekson related his activities to the overall defense problems
of the United States of America. He explained the City Council's role in
the event of natural or' wartime disasters. He then explained the City's
civil defense plan presently approved.
2. Councilman Miller took his seat at 7:45 P. M.
Commander Gullickson then took the City Council for a tour of inspection
of the Disaster Center.
Recess: 9:30 P. M. - Reconvened: 9:45 P. M., all Councilmen present.
3. The following bids were received for purchasing two (2) pick -up trucks
for the City of San Luis Obispo:

On mot ion'o`rCounclrlan Blake `seconded =by `Councilman Gallagher,
the low bid of-•Hysen•chnson Ford was accepted. Motion carried.
4. On motion of Mayor Whelchel, seconded by Councilman Miller, the
following committee was appointed to meet with Fire Chief Schlobohm
and study the weed abatement procedures as presented by Chief
Schlobohm. Councilmen B lake and Miller were appointed to the
committee. Motion carried.
5. On motion--of:Couricilman Blake, seconded by Councilman Spring, that
the Council Economic, Committee be' authorized' "to- �cbntac`t "the`-
management of Montgomery Tn1ard' =and G4�eyYiouncl Bus=Zines offering help
of the City to their future plans of developments. Motion carried.
6. On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Gallagher,
authorization was given to Councilman Blake to leave the coup i
July h and 5, 1965. Motion carried.
7. On motion of Counciliiari`Blake;�'seeonded•by Councilman Miller, that
City Attorney Houser be given authorization to leave the country
