2. The City Council then began study of the 1967/68 City Budget as prepared.
by the Administrative Officer.
R. D. Miller reviewed with the Council the proposed expenditures in the Capital
outlay budget, Items 1 through 22.
3. On motion of Councilman Blake, seconded by Councilman Gallagher, the meeting.
adjourned to Tuesday, May 23, 1967 at 7:30 p.m. Motion carried.

ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
May 23, 1967 - 7:30 P.M.
CITY HALL
Present: Councilmen Blake, Gallagher, Miller, Spring and
Mayor Whelchel
City Staff
Present: R. D. Miller, Administrative Officer; J. H. Fitzpatrick, I
City Clerk.
1. Communication from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company asking the City
Council's support on the installation of toll free dialing from San Luis
Obispo to Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande and Santa Margarita. As this
request would entail a rate increase to the subscribers, the City Council
stated they would take no action until they had held a public hearing to let
the citizens of the City voice their opinions. R. D. Miller, Administrative
Officer, was asked to contact PTT and see if they wished the Council to hold a
public hearing on this matter.
2. Communication from the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo inviting the Mayor and City
Council to ride in the parade and enjoy the rodeo, was ordered received and-
filed.
3. Communication from the State Civil Defense Agency stating they will have a
representative at the adjourned Council Meeting of June 12, 1967 to discuss an
emergency operating center for the City of San Luis Obispo.
4. City Council continued their study of the proposed 1967/68 City Budget
starting at page 17 and ending at page 62 inclusive.
5. On motion of Councilman Spring, seconded by Councilman Gallagher, the meeting
adjourned to Thursday, May 25, 1967 at 12 :00 Noon. Motion carried.
