On motion of Councilman Bond, seconded by Councilman Munger, the following resolution was introduced: Resolution No. 4404 (1981 Series), a resolution of the 6ouncil of the'city of San Luis Obispo ordering the City Clerk to prepare early canvass of election returns. Passed and adopted on the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Bond, Munger, Billig; Dunin, and Mayor Cooper NOES: None ABSENT: None 2. At 11:10 a.m. the City Council adjourned to executive session to discuss: a) property acquisition; and b) employee negotiations. 3. At 12 o'clock noon the City Council reconvened into a regular session. All councilmembers present. 4. There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor Cooper adjourned.the.meeting to 7:30 a.m. Friday, at Maya Restaurant on Monterey Street, April 27, 1981. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 990 PALM STREET Pledge Roll Call Councilmembers Present: Melanie Billig, Alan.Bond, Gerald Munger, Ron Dunin, and Mayor Lynn Cooper Absent: None City Staff Present: Lee Walton, Administrative Officer; George Thacher, City Attorney; Pam Voges, Acting City Clerk; Terry Sanville, Planning Department; Roger Neuman, Police Chief; D.F. Romero, Public Services Director; and Rudy Muravez, Finance Director Olivia Grande, Recording Secretary ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------- 1. At this time the City Council considered a resolution supporting community efforts to designate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr_.'s birthday a legal holiday. Councilman Bond reported that on February 16, 1981 he received a letter from the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Chapters of Cal Poly requesting that the city recognize Dr. King's birthday as a legal holiday.
