SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2003 - NOON

PUBLIC COMMENT
There were no comments.
STUDY SESSION
COUNTY BRIEFING ON PENDING APPLICATIONS NEAR THE CITY.
Purpose:
To receive a presentation from County staff regarding pending development applications
within or near the City's Urban Reserve Line (URL).
Study Session Highlights:
Community Development Director Mandeville provided introductory comments and
summarized discussion presented in the staff report. Deputy Planning Director Beck
provided an overview of fourteen (14) pending projects just outside of the URL; eight
applications (8) pending action by the Board of Supervisors and six (6) applications
recently approved. (See maps and list on file in the Office of the City Clerk). Questions by
Council to County staff followed.
Informal discussion ensued. There was interest by members of the Council to meet in a
joint session with the Board of Supervisors to discuss the issue further. CAD Hampian
indicated that the next step would be for City and County staff to get together to discuss
the best timing for conducting a joint meeting.

ACTION: City and County staff to coordinate a joint meeting with the City Council
and County Board of Supervisors to discuss jointly sphere of influence and 0
common land use issues.
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor F
the meeting at 1:35 p.m. to Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. in the
990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo.
