California Homes and Jobs Act of 2013 (As amended April 2, 2013) NOTICE OF SUPPORT Dear Senator DeSaulnier: The City of San Luis Obispo wishes to express its support of SB 391, which would generate approximately $500 million per year for affordable housing needs through a $75 recordation fee on real estate transactions with the exception of home sales. We understand that you are the author of this legislation, and we appreciate your initiative to provide a stable source of affordable housing funds. A permanent source of funding would allow the state to fund existing programs at dependable levels, and is a more reliable and efficient mechanism than occasional housing bonds. Moreover, with the recent loss of capital for funding of redevelopment housing funds, a state source of funding is even more critical. For these reasons, the City of San Luis Obispo supports SB 391.
