Mayor Harmon and City Council Members:
One of many reasons the residents of Dana Street are requesting a Residential Parking
Permit District is due to the high demand for the free parking on our street and the ever
increasing overparking of our street by users who do not reside in the neighborhood.
Attached is a document with a small selection of photos showing some of the various
parking violations consistently committed on Dana Street.

Dana Street Parking Photos
One of many reasons the residents of Dana Street are requesting a Residential Parking Permit District is due the chronic ,
unrelenting and ever increasing overparking of our street. The residents of Dana Street are sharing a small sample of
photos that show the various parking violations consistently committed on Dana Street.
People tend to want free parking and they are often in a hurry to get somewher e and so we experience many violations
daily.
It is not uncommon for driveways to be blocked partially or fully by vehicles whose owners do not live on the street. Often
the parking is in a manner that makes it difficult and unsafe for residents to access their property. This includes being
blocked from entering/exiting the property entirely or making it difficult to view the street while exiting the property.
We have recently worked with city staff and participated in The Red Curb Permit Program. The Parking Services Office
has been great to work with in all regards, has been helpful in regard to monitoring the parking issues, but as you will see,
we still have drivers who do not acknowledge the red curbs.
Creating a parking spot in front of the fire hydrants is surprisingly common. We are hopeful the new red curbs very
recently painted by city will help with that issue.
This vehicle illegally parked across driveway was ticketed but not moved until 12 hours later.
Head in parking, particularly at overlooked end of street is not uncommon. People in a hurry, looking for free
parking, get desperate.
