Subject:Public Art, Statues
As A Seventy year native of SLO City, and a son of former City Council Member-Myron Graham - who
helped with the Mission Plaza and the Paula Zima Bear Statue and founder of the SLO Art Association (Art
Center, Museum), I believe in the power of Art to bring people together. Whether it is Statues, Murals,
Cows, Walls, or even Graffiti, images bring tourism (see City of Santa Paula, West Hollywood) and locals
alike to support their community's cultural interests. I would like a policy that is ART-forward, not Anti-
Art. A Downtown that is full of galleries, utility boxes, Statues of people and the Abstract, with musical and
Theatrical venues for citizens to attend (Like Mozaic and Art After Dark). A Cultural Diverse City is a
wonderful city to live in. Please Support All Art Projects of especially Historical events and people that
made San Luis Obispo so special!
