Subject:SUPPORT the Teddy Roosevelt sculpture tonight
Dear City Council,
Please vote in favor of the Teddy Roosevelt sculpture in the Redwood Grove in Mitchell Park.
This delightful Zima sculpture would become as much-loved by the people as all her other public artworks are. The
Redwood grove is a perfect place to place the Teddy Roosevelt bench, offering people a quiet space to slow down and
reconnect with nature and art and respect for the Earth.
Teddy Roosevelt was not a perfect man - no one is - but he is responsible for preserving massive amounts of
irreplaceable lands across this country. This is vitally important today, as the current occupier of the White House is
selling access to every destructive industry around to come suck dry our public lands - our national treasure. That they
leave their toxic waste, broken equipment, and deeply damaged land for the taxpayers to clean up or live with is the
main reason to take a stand for the values of conservation, community involvement, and contemplation of the living
source of our collective health and wealth.
Thank you for your consideration,
