I think it is shortsighted and too rigid to put forth the concept of no decade person’s name on a public piece of Art. John Ashbaugh's recent article to the Tribune sets forth some good examples. Honoring Ken Schwartz on the public piece of art it Is very appropriate. He energized the public and city government of San Luis Obispo to make changes to the front of the mission and the creek to make a public gathering place for events and activities that add to the energy and diversity of the city. This is an important was and is an important part of San Luis Obispo's development and history that draws many tourists to our area and adds to the economic vitality of the city. Please vote.to be flexible for now and the future in deciding on the public art pieces and ability to name a person significant to a place in time Rosanne. 1
