Dear Honorable Members,
As a resident of SLO I urge a thoughtful reconsideration of the Council’s policy regarding public art
memorializing and honoring persons whose contributions to the greater good are noteworthy.
Thoughtful selection of art in public spaces can be a meaningful educational tool as well as a mark of
taste that enhances our city.
It goes without saying that such displays should be very carefully chosen and reflect admirable qualities
of persons who might otherwise be overlooked.
