Subject:I support Council wage increases
Greetings,
Whether you plan on running again or not, I support raising the wages of council members and the
mayor’s role. We need talented people to contribute to our community and even the newly proposed
wages are a compromise that anyone running for office would have to make. I think the investment is
rather small compared to the outsized benefits we would expect from having more focused attention
from the city council members.
I also propose adding a 2% automatic wage increase for future councils on an annual basis to eliminate
the need to revisit this issue continuously. Maybe put it into effect over the next 20 years.
