Dear Mayor Romero :
I am concerned that the developers of Garden Street are asking the City to buy a "pig in a
poke ." It is my understanding that they are asking for approvals of a project withou t
producing drawings or a model of their latest concepts .
Mr . Marshall complains that he has spent "a bloody fortune" on drawings and schemes .
The problem with that is, his earlier plans were totally insensitive to cultural heritag e
concerns and the like .
Now that he has seen the E1R and heard the concerns of people like Save Our Downtow n
group, he ought to be able to create a visual representation of the current plans fo r
development based on EIR and citizen concerns . Without visual representations, it i s
difficult for citizens or the council to understand what is being proposed . I strongly oppos e
any approvals absent visual representations of what the project will look like .
