Re :The vacant seat on the SLO City Counci l
It is my pleasure to support the nomination of Dan Carpenter for cit y
council .
-- As you know, Carpenter had considerable support in the pas t
election .
-- He has given considerable time to the city to do the finances fo r
the SLO Historical Society, a useful skill when considering how t o
manage city finances in tight times .
--- I know him as an honorable caring person who understands the issues .
Thank you for your consideration ,
David Hafemeiste r

It seems to me as it does to so many others that electorate be respected by
appointing Dan Carpenter the vacant seat .
From what I have read and heard there is very little difference between th e
qualifications of the two leading candidates . There are no grounds for selectin g
one over the other based on experience and qualifications .
If Mr . Carpenter is not appointed it is a clear signal that this council is knee dee p
in cronyism from the get-go . It bodes no good for the citizens of San Luis Obispo .
It isn't all that hard to do the right thing .
