I respectfully decline. It's not that l'm not interested in serving. ln fact, I have strong opinions about the need to increase Council pay given the full-time nature of the job. Nonetheless, as a City administrator of another city, I'm trying to limit my public political engagement in San Luis Obispo. ln fact, the code of ethics for the city administrator/city manager profession strongly suggests this, For me, serving on an advisory body in SLO crosses to the public side of the political line. I do, however, plan to provide written input to the committee once it is formed. For me, written input falls on the private side of the political line. Thanks again for asking me to serve. 1 Andrew Carter 1283 Woodside Drive San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 805-594-1 906 2
