Subject:Keep stay at home orders in place
City Council Members,
Please keep the stay at home orders and social distancing guidelines in place for at least the next 3-4
weeks, then re-evaluate. I read in the Tribune that SLO county leaders and some city mayors are asking
the governor to relax these orders so we can re-open some businesses very soon. In my opinion, this
would be irresponsible. We are all anxious to go back to normal, but I am convinced it would be a
serious mistake. With only 865 tests done in our county, we really have no idea of the real extent of
this virus. New data from Los Angeles shows there may be 50 times more cases than have been
identified so far. That means a second wave is coming. We have a chance to keep the long term
negative impacts of the pandemic relatively low In SLO county. So please, don’t blow it. Be smart and
patient.
Thank you for the excellent response to this crisis so far.
