Persons wishing to speak should come forward and state their name and address. Comments are limited to three minutes per person. Items raised at this time are generally referred to staff and, if action by the Committee is necessary, may be scheduled for a future meeting. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES AND FINANCIAL REPORTS 1. Review Minutes of the Jack House Committee Meeting of January 8, 2020 and Financial Reports and Expenditures for December 2019 (SETTERLUND) PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION 2. Parks Maintenance (BASDEN/SETTERLUND) Recommendations: Update only 3. Fence Painting (GORDAN/SETTERLUND) Recommendations: Update: Fence painting is scheduled for Sunday, April 25. Jack House Signage (SETTERLUND/Crotser) Recommendations: Update: Sign was funded by Jack House and was constructed by the Sign Place. The Sign place is also responsible for the sandwich board signs. Consideration of the Minutes – (Setterlund) ACTION: APPROVAL OF THE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF THE JACK HOUSE COMMITTEE FOR NOVEMBER 13, 2019. Committee Comment: SETTLE- in regard to comments from last meeting, status of trees being cut back for Rotary Club to start painting fence DAVE –will follow-up with Adam and park maintenance to set date MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER SETTLE, SECOND BY COMMITTEE MEMBER KINCAIRD, AND CARRIED 5:0:0 to approve the minutes of Regular Meeting of November 13, 2019 as presented. AYES: ALL NOTES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: MOORE, SCHWAB Purchasing of Paint ACTION: APPROVAL FUNDING OF THE PAINT Committee Comment: CROTSER: $30-$40/Gallon of paint, possibly 8 gallons so $300-$400. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Jack House Committee DRAFT - MINUTES 2 AYES: ALL NOTES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: MOORE, SCHWAB Consideration of Financial Reports and Expenditures - (Setterlund) ACTION: APPROVAL OF THE FINANCIAL REPORTS AND EXPENDITURES FOR DECEMBER 2019 MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER KINCAID, SECOND BY COMMITTEE MEMBER GORDON, AND CARRIED 5:0:0 to approve the Financial Reports and Expenditures for December 2019. AYES: ALL NOTES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: MOORE, SCHWAB Committee Comment: KINCAID – tree purchase was only $230.00 not $300.00 CROTSER – spelling on monthly needs to be fixed, 2 sets of funds from what accounts? DAVE – explained where the accounts come from KINCAID – add decimal points to make it easier to read PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION 2. Restoration Condition Survey (Timbs/Setterlund) Recommendation: Review of completed survey and materials. Survey may be taken home and reviewed by each member. Public Comment: None Committee Comment KINCAID – will take it home first to review and switch through committee members. CROTSER – possible to download, maybe Dropbox DAVE – will investigate downloadable options 3. Parks Master Plan Update (Setterlund) Recommendations: Update only. Will be completed and more information to come in March. Public Comment: NONE Committee Comment NONE 3 BUSINESS ITEMS 4. Plaque (Setterlund) Recommendations: Approval up to $1,500.00 for purchase and installation or plaque and mount. Gordon and Settle. All Fund plaque and discuss mount Public Comment: NONE Committee Comment: CROTSER- this is to be mounted on a pedestal in front of home MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER GORDON, SECOND BY COMMITTEE MEMBER SETTLE, AND CARRIED 5:0:0 to approve $1,500.00 for purchase and installation of plaque and mount. Dave researched where the sign originally came from, whether it was donated. To replace funding would come from Jack House. Staff to research signage pricing. Public Comment: NONE Committee Comment: SUNDBYE - MOORE – KINCAID – Sandwich board signage is not a priority. Priority is large broken sign that needs replacing. SETTLE – CROTSER – sandwich signage may need updating. Will research and find more info for sandwich boards. DAVE- will contact Ron to see if he has memory of old sign. Anholm Greenway Project – Working with consultant RRM on proposed design 4 Comments: KINCAID – Christmas Event: overall good turnout, wrong information found online . Next year, banner is needed on Marsh and flyers are needed to pass out. The carriage house needs to be cleaned. Will create memo to send to park maintenance and identify what needs to be removed. SETTLE – Contact with History Center to put quilts in the house for Mother’s Day. Damage in the ceiling at Jack House. CROTSER - will include photos in the report to the city council. DAVE – Contact building maintenance and park maintenance to review photos so they can explain what can or cannot be repaired, and cleaning of carriage house. SUNDBYE – Why can they not have a key to access Jack House? DAVE: No one can have key due to liability. The last Jack House sign was designed, constructed and installed by the “Sign Place” located at 812 Fiero Ln # F, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. The person I dealt with at the time was Karen Adams. If she is still there I am sure she remembers the project. They also did the sandwich panels for the gift shop as well as the main sign at the street. Surely they have a record of the project in their files. They can probably provide you with a design copy of what was done so you could have a chance to edit any changes which may be required. I wanted to connect with you regarding the long wooden sign located at the front of the Jack House. Unfortunately, the sign has become damaged and no longer serves its purpose. Are you aware of how that sign came to be in front of the Jack House? I can’t find any information about it and or who is responsible for the update and maintenance. My working assumption is that the Jack House Committee designed, ordered, paid for and had it installed. If you know the signs history please let me know.
