I will be at work when this meeting is in session. First of all I would like to state that I am not an anti-tree person. I recently spent a lot of money to trim the branches off of a large ponderosa pine in my back yard in order to make the tree safe again. I am having problems with the tree in front of my home. I am not able to park in my driveway due to fecal matter from birds coating my cars. I have to use a lot of water to continuously wash off my cars. I noticed the tree produces a lot more leaves than other trees on my street. In the fall when there are reports of rain I clean out the rain gutters. Within an hour, this tree sheds enough leaves to clog my rain gutters again. This does not let the water flow away from my home, and compromises the home's foundation. The tree also has been producing a lot more of the round seed pods that have become a falls hazard for pedestrians. The tree roots grew into my sewer line costing me thousands of dollars to fix. The sewer line only has a ten year warranty. I am concerned that the tree roots may occlude the sewer line again. I will be retired by then, and will not have the disposable income to fix the sewer another time. I have some cracks in my driveway and the tree roots seem to have started to push up some of the concrete. I am requesting permission to remove that tree and replace it with a less intrusive species away from the sewer line. Thank you, Greg McAdams 1
