This PRA originated from a phone call to Records on 4/30/20. I emailed to try and clarify what he was asking
for. See his response and mine below.
Thanks

Good afternoon Mr. Ricker,
Please see the attached policies dealing with “traffic related” incidents that you requested via the Public
Records Act. Our Traffic Sergeant also suggested that you refer to California Vehicle Codes sections 21055
and 21056. I have placed a link to the California Legislative Information website below for you to look up the
code sections:
http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes.xhtml
We do not have specific policies on everything you requested, so you’re receiving general policies in some
cases since that was as close as I could get to your request. Please take a look and let me know if you feel
this response did not adequately provide what you’re looking for.
Sincerely,
Tera Rapp
Records Supervisor

Thank you Mrs. Rapp,
Yes, so I was trying to request what’s expected from your officers regarding traffic related incidents to try to lessen the
search. Like what’s expected as they patrol through the city of San Luis. E.x. Traffic speeds, Distances, How fast they can
go on the streets, if they have to wear a seat belt. But I’m quite alright with receiving traffic officer conduct, procedures,
and policy as a whole. I’ve met a few officers and they’re all pretty great, so I just want a better understanding of what’s
expected from them. I know the department is closed so if you could just send them using my email that would be
perfect. Thank you so much for your time, I’ll try to respond to your emails as quickly as I can as to not delay you from
your other duties.

Good afternoon Ryan,
I have a question for you regarding your PRA for Dept policy and procedures. You’re
requesting officer expectations for traffic related incidents. Can you expand on what you mean
by “traffic related” incidents please? This will help direct my search.
Thank you,
Tera Rapp
