Subject:expanded dining in streets
Hello Council,
I am writing in support of the expanded dining and retail in streets in downtown SLO. I think this is a great way to keep
people outdoors and feeling safe as we attempt to reopen.
I hear a lot of talk about Central Valley tourism. However, as we reopen we should expect more tourists than usual to
visit from larger cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles metro areas that remain closed and are seeking nature. We
don’t want to end up in a a shut down again, so I am support of requiring masks indoors in public places such as grocery
stores, etc. The science is there that proves this helps reduce transmission when airflow is not there to help. I also
believe this will help tourists and locals feel safer to come out and support their community businesses. This is not an
imposition on our freedom, it is an act of responsibility to our communities financial and physical health. If we want to
get our economy going, then we should consider measures that will make it actually safer for workers and locals to
intermix with tourists who could be brining in Covid as we reopen opening up. Lets keep our numbers low!
My Best,
