Such a tall building will destroy San Luis Obispo’s uniqueness, charm and beauty. When I moved here in 1979, I found the most welcoming and striking thing about San Luis Obispo to be seeing the hills surrounding the town and being able to see them no matter here I was in the city. It would be tragic to destroy that! I believe 50-feet tall is plenty tall enough for any building in San Luis Obispo. Also, please consider the impact of an earthquake. I was on the 3rd floor of a 3-story building during the December 2003 earthquake and on the 1st floor of the same building in the September 2004 earthquake. Being on the 3rd floor was terrifying. I can only imagine what being higher up would feel like. Please do not let this new building exceed the “normally allowed” 50-feet. Sincerely, Miki Gillman slomiki@me.com 1
