I have lived on the Central Coast my entire life and have lived in San Luis Obispo for the last fifty years. I can always remember driving into SLO and appreciating and seeing the mountains that surround us and what beauty and calmness this brings to the city. L arge buildings with no set back and without any thought to historical architectural style take away the light and views that are so special to this city. Some of our new larger buildings have taken away the light and you can no longer see the beautiful mountains around us when you drive down Marsh, Santa Rosa, Higuera and many streets in our down town core. I am one of the previous owners of the Kaetzel House and I love the Historical homes in the gateway to our city. While owning the Kaetzel House with Gail Johnson we were active in preserving the Pinho home as well as working with the Historical groups to address the architectural style of the bank next to the Jack House. At that time people in the city were more open to retaining a flow of new building with the old. We still have the opportunity to do this with the current project that is proposed. The project as it is currently designed is too large, too tall with no setbacks and makes no attempt to blend with any of the Historical buildings in SLO. Please take all of this into consideration when reviewing this project. Victoria 1
