I am shocked to see video footage of our police department firing tear gas and rubber bullets at our community members, your constituents and neighbors. These peaceful protesters do
not need to be met with violence. There is no place for these authoritarian measures in our community. How will you stand against this? What steps are you taking to protect us from
the police? Are our officers equipped with body cameras? Are they trained in de-escalation tactics?
Please, for the sake of peace and freedom, do not enable our police to have so much power and ability to be violent towards our community.
