Hello members of the City Council:
My name is David Rose. I am a Central Coast native, television producer, and resident of San Luis Obispo.
This evening, while attending a peaceful protest, I was shot in the head by a rubber bullet; presumably from a 37mm
grenade launcher. This was shortly after a contingent of law enforcement tear gassed approximately 50 students
engaging in peaceful protest on Santa Rosa Street. They were seated on the ground, with their hands up.
My question for the City Council is: when I can expect Mayor Heidi Harmon and police Chief Deanna Cantrell’s
resignations for perpetrating this violence against our peaceful community?
I still have the rubber bullet I was shot with. Would the San Luis Obispo Police Department like their munition returned?
In these trying fiscal times, thrift is a virtue. I want to do my part for my city.
