This so-called Clean Energy Choice program is not a choice at all, but a mandate forced upon the citizens of San Luis
Obispo to use the most expensive energy choice possible for residential heating, cooking, laundry, and other energy
needs. That the City Council thinks it's OK to force its citizens who want to purchase a new home to use only electric
energy is an abuse of power and a gross over-reach of what local government should do. Why don't you focus on
properly monitoring and enforcing current zoning and building rules and ordinances, something the City is woefully
inadequate at doing, rather than creating new ones that aren't needed, aren't wanted, and won't do anything for global
warming other than give some of you a warm fuzzy feeling. And make sure that warm feeling comes from an electric
blanket and not a gas furnace.
