As an action for our community to prevent not only these tragic deaths from happening in our SLO community but also to improve our law enforcement tactics. First, taking away qualified immunity is so important. Our police officers need to be held accountable for illegal actions they take against the community. It's unfair they are not held to the same standard as a law-abiding citizen. This is why it is proposed to create a civilian review board to hold law enforcement accountable. Second, we need to reallocate funds from law enforcement and incarceration to fund community services, mental health, and community non-profits. As of now, police are overloaded in handling domestic violence calls, homeless people in the streets, suicide cases, drug addicts, etc. The police are stretched way to thin. If we take funds and put that on the front end for preventative action we would have less crime in our streets and fewer people incarcerated. Third, please respond to R.A.C.E. MATTERS demands by June 19th. This is so important so we can at least start the dialog of the demand this organization is requesting. As someone who not only lives in SLO county but found her heart in SLO County, I implore you to consider taking the R.A.C.E. MATTERS requests seriously. Thank you for your time and every SLO citizen looks forward to your response to our request. Have a lovely day. Cheers, Regina Graziano Morro Bay, CA 1
