Subject:Comment for Agenda item 11
Dear Mayor Harmon and City Council members,
Voting on this issue when public comment is not allowed is cowardly. This discussion on electricity vs gas
needs to be postponed until the public are allowed to attend council meetings. It seems OK to allow 3000
protesters who are shoulder to shoulder to march around, but we, your citizens, are not allowed to attend a
meeting. This is totally duplicitous and makes no sense. This is clearly a political move and has nothing to do
with climate change. If you really want to make a difference on greenhouse gasses, then limit the jet flights and
do something about the traffic problem. Idling cars are a big contributor to greenhouse emissions.
Please do the right thing and delay this vote.
Thank you for your consideration,
Kathy Borland
