Subject:Thank you for your leadership!
Good afternoon council members,
I want to thank you for the leadership you are showcasing by bringing the issue of Racism into your agenda tonight.
Thank you for recognizing it as a public health issue, I very much hope you are able to vote favorably for this resolution,
and I invite you to help bring this issue to the County Board of Supervisors and county health agency. Our black
community is with you and is seeing your response.
I would like to specifically recognize Mayor Harmon, for fighting the good fights over and over again. Aristotle said
"There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing". Sadly, some of our elected officials
have adopted this posture to avoid making waves, but that has not been mayor Harmon's attitude when facing issues
that need to be addressed, even when confronted by bullies. Thank you Mayor for your leadership.
You will have a challenging night today, you will probably face some bullies, but please remember that the decisions that
you are making will not only impact our current community and current leaders, but it will also affect generations to
come.
I trust your leadership tonight, thank you again for fighting the good fight.
