We’ve met with Mr. Papp several times over the past few years and he is consistently a well-informed, courteous and thoughtful supporter of the cultural heritage of our unique and historically rich community. Our Tribe’s interaction with Mr. Papp has always been respectful and friendly. In addition, he was a tremendous friend to the Tribe when we needed an advocate within the City of San Luis Obispo. Without knowing us, he spent considerable effort to help us and the end result was the preservation of part of the rare mission era aqueduct that is located two blocks from your council chambers. We discovered that he cares about places and people and we appreciated his perspective. His wealth of knowledge about the history of San Luis Obispo is amazing and an asset to the committee and community. It would be a shame to lose that knowledge, so we hope that you will recognize him for his good work and that the request for his resignation, or the request for his removal from the committee is not approved. Thank you, Mona Olivas Tucker, Chair yy yak titu titu yak tiłhini – Northern Chumash Tribe San Luis Obispo County and Region 1
